If you’ve ever been to the Milwaukee County beer gardens on a nice day, you know it can be a real zoo.

Now you can visit a beer garden at the real zoo.

They’re calling it the “Bear Garden,” and the new edition won’t cost taxpayers anything.

The county’s got a new partnership with “Service Systems Associates” and it will be putting $3 million in renovations and upgrades to concession stands, including a new beer garden, that we bet plenty of parents will take advantage of.

County Executive Chris Abele assures bears will not actually be in the Bear Garden.

“When we can improve the service we provide, have more options, increase revenue and reduce reliance on taxpayers, that’s a pretty solid win,” Abele said.

Plans are to open the beer garden this fall. A new concessions service will be available earlier, however. That is slated to open for guests Memorial Day weekend.
