A Milwaukee area women and her successful business were featured on the TODAY Show Thursday morning as part of their Meet the Boss segment honoring Women's History Month.
Marie Moody is the founder and chairwoman of the pet food company, Stella and Chewy's.
The business women was inspired and named after her two adopted dogs, Stella and Chewy.
Moody told the TODAY show about her love for animals and finding out Chewy was sick inspired her to start the raw food diet.
"I had this epiphany. I started doing research on pet food. because, even though we've domesticated them, they're DNA is still, like 99% wolf," Moody told Jenna Bush Hager of the TODAY show. "It made a lot of sense to go back to how they used to eat in the wild."
The company was started out of Moody's then New York apartment kitchen, but after taking off she's moved the headquarters to her hometown, Milwaukee.
Stella and Chewy Pet food is now a multimillion dollar pet food company sold in 5,000 stores across the country.
