One dead after shooting near 58th and Fairmount

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police say one person is dead after a shooting near 58th and Fairmount on Monday.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 18-year-old Cliffton Penn of Milwaukee.

The shooting happened around 5:11 p.m. Penn was pronounced dead at the scene.

A neighbor told TMJ4 News on the phone she had to run for cover with her husband after hearing "dozens of rapid-fire shots." She said they heard car tires squealing and bullets ricocheting off of nearby buildings.

Police are seeking unknown suspects.
