MILWAUKEE — Marquette University Men's Basketball announced Wednesday that they have signed nationally ranked standout Dawson Garcia.

Garcia is said to arrive on campus next summer and will have four seasons of eligibility.

Standing at 6'11", weighing 220 pounds, Garcia is "a position-less player with great versatility," said Coach Steve Wojciechowski. "We are so excited the Garcia family has chosen to join Marquette University."

Sitting at 31st by 247Sports.com, 36th by Rivals.com, and 45th by ESPN, Garcia is a top-50 recruit nationally. He was also a member of the 2019 USA Basketball Men's 3x3 U18 World Cup team that claimed the first gold medal in US history. Garcia was named most valuable player of the 2019 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup and the 2019 USA Basketball Men's 3x3 U18 National Championship.

As a junior in 2018-19, Garcia averaged 27.5 points and 11 rebounds per game. He was a three-year varsity letterwinner at Prior Lake High School in Prior Lake, MN.

Coach Wojcieochowski said Garcia can be one of the top players throughout his time at Marquette.
