RACINE — Jacob Streckenbach has been charged with 16 counts of child pornography following an investigation by the Racine County Criminal Investigators. The case is one of the larger collections of child pornography that the division has ever seen.

Investigators were conducting an online investigation into the BitTorrent network, searching for offenders sharing child pornography when an IP address linked to the 26-year-old prompted a search warrant. During the search, a hard drive belonging to Streckenbach was found with over 200 files of child pornography.

“Each time an image of child pornography is viewed and shared, that innocent child is victimized again and again,” Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said, in response to the search warrant.

In addition to the 16 counts, Streckenbach was charged with two counts of marijuana possession. He's currently being held at the Racine County Jail.

If convicted, Streckenbach could face over 450 years in prison and fined over $1.8 million dollars.
