Deputies from the Racine County Sheriff's Office arrested a man early Saturday morning for OWI 7th offense.

Scott Smits, 50, of Manitowoc, Wis. was swerving in and out of the lane of travel on STH 36 in Rochester when a deputy pulled him over for deviation from designated line.

The deputy noted a strong odor of intoxicants coming from Smits and saw that his eyes were red and glassy upon approaching the vehicle.

Smits admitted to consuming two beers and was placed under arrest after failing standardized sobriety tests.

Smits' blood alcohol content is unknown at this time. He was taken to the Racine County Jail and held on the OWI charge.

He had a large Mastiff mix dog in the vehicle with him at the time of the arrest.
