MILWAUKEE — A Cambellsport man has been arrested for his 3rd OWI after driving his car against a median wall for miles, police said.
The Wisconsin State Patrol was conducting speed enforcement along Interstate 41 southbound near the Milwaukee County line on Saturday when they observed a vehicle with two flat tires "continuously side swiping his car against the median wall."
Troopers eventually stopped the vehicle when they discovered 34-year-old Kevin Heintz behind the wheel. Heintz said he recently consumed heroin at a local park-n-ride because he wanted to "feel the effects of the drug" before driving to Indiana for a poker tournament, police said.
Heintz was charged with possession of heroin, recklessly endangering safety and operating while intoxicated, among other felonies. He was also wanted for outstanding warrants, according to police.
Heintz is expected to make his first appearance in court next week.
