A man and child have died after a house fire near 39th and Silver Spring, according to an official with Milwaukee Police Department.
An assistant fire chief says that a 60-year-old man and 4-year-old child were found inside of the home without a pulse and were taken to the hospital.
"When we got the initial call, it was with people trapped, so our units knew that coming in," said Milwaukee Fire Assistant Chief David Votsis.
"As devastating as it is for us, it is a hundred times more devastating for the family, and I can’t imagine what they’re going through," said Votsis.

"I just also want to express my sympathies to the family in this horrible situation. We all feel for them, and when something like this happens we share in that sorrow as well," said Milwaukee Police Capt. Heather Wurth.
