TOWN OF EMMET, WIS. — A man and boy were seriously injured Saturday night after the driver of the ATV lost control, ejecting both passengers in the Town of Emmet.

An investigation shows that a 48-year-old from Watertown was driving a 2003 Honda ATV with a 9-year-old passenger from Rio when he lost control in the intersection of County M and Rhine Road. The crash ejected both the driver and passenger.

The operator suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Watertown Hospital. The boy suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to Watertown Hospital where he was later flown to Children's Hospital in Madison.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the Dodge County Sheriff's Department.
