A Mommy & Baby Grab and Go Resource Bag Giveaway was organized on Aug. 29, at the Our Daily Bread Community Outreach Center parking lot located at 6040 W Lisbon Avenue in Milwaukee.
Expecting mothers and those with 4-year-olds and younger were offered child resources including diapers, face masks and other supplies.
"Even though we're limited in what support we can provide due to the pandemic, we are still here to help new mothers in need," explained Lea Kyle-Lewis, founder & CEO of Our Daily Bread Community Outreach Center. "This Grab and Go event was the best way we could think of to help support mothers going through challenges in these difficult times."
Our Daily Bread helps mothers before and after birth through a series of programs. The most popular program is Live Well, Be Well Prenatal Care that helps mothers who may experience high-risk pregnancies.
Mothers are monitored with regular home visits and directed to assistance services like medical and housing programs.
Our Daily Bread also supports local youth with post-secondary education and job-training skills.
