WISCONSIN — Aaron Rodgers has made a statement on his Instagram regarding the current protests, referring back to the NFL movement years ago.

Rodgers shared a photo of himself locking arms with teammates in solidarity. A photo that circulated years ago in response to Colin Kapernick taking a knee during the National Anthem.

In his post, Rodgers said "A few years ago we were criticized for locking arms in solidarity before the game. It has NEVER been about an anthem or a flag. Not then. Not now. Listen with an open heart, let’s educate ourselves, and then turn word and thought into action."

Rodgers then included hashtags calling for change and telling America to wake up.

The statement comes eight days after George Floyd died in police custody, and six days after the start of protests here in Milwaukee.
