Lightning struck a house in Oconomowoc Friday, causing extensive damage.
The bolt hit the attic and woke up the homeowner inside. He smelled the smoke and knew he had to get out.
"You could see the fire coming out of the top. It was a good one. It was scary," says Megan Hufaker.
A lot of people in this neighborhood say the storm was scary. They're use to big storms in southeast Wisconsin, but this one was powerful.
"Last night seemed awfully electrical. You know, it was like out of the blue. It was really lighting up the sky," says Hufaker, a neighbor.
The homeowner says his grandfather built the house more than 100 years ago. He says the smoke and water damage is extensive.
