MILWAUKEE — The family of Jacob Blake and dozens of prominent leaders and local groups will be marching to demand justice for Blake, who was shot in the back seven times by a Kenosha police officer last month.
The march will kick off at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 12, starting at Martin Luther King Park at 1401 W. Vliet St. in Milwaukee.
Prominent attendants include: Justice for Jacob, Peace in the Streets, BLAK,The Peoples Revolution, Breaking Barriers Mentoring INC - All Of Us Or None WI, Project Return EX-incarcerated People Organizations (EXPO), SAC, and the ACLU.
“We will keep fighting for justice for Jacob. We will keep fighting to see the officers who shot him charged and convicted. We will keep fighting to eliminate the police brutality and racism in our systems that have caused this to happen over and over again to Black and brown men and women in the United States," said Tanya McLean, friend of Jacob Blake’s family, in a release Thursday.
