MILWAUKEE — Authorities have released the identity of a motorcyclist who died in a crash with a car on I-43 early Friday morning.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says 31-year-old Nicholas A. Beshensky was driving his motorcycle northbound on I-43 near West State Street just before 1 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found that Beshensky's motorcycle hit a northbound car at a high rate of speed.

EMS pronounced Beshensky dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the mid-sized car was not injured, and did not show any signs of impairment. That driver's identity was not released.

The crash closed all northbound lanes of I-43 at the Marquette Interchange, until reopening around 4:50 a.m. Friday morning.

This crash is separate from the one on I-94 in the Stadium Interchange Friday afternoon, in which a motorcycle accident left one person dead and other injured.
