WAUKESHA COUNTY -- Authorities say one person has died in an accident on Interstate 94 in Waukesha County Tuesday morning.
The accident was reported just after 10 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway at Calhoun Road in Brookfield. The accident prompted law enforcement to close the three lanes of the freeway briefly.
According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office, a GMC SUV was traveling westbound and struck the median wall.
There were only two people in the car at the time.
A 49-year-old Milwaukee man was driving the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 47-year-old Milwaukee man, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The names of the victims will not be released until authorities have notified their families.
This accident is currently under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office and more information will be released at a later time.
