MILWAUKEE — As we welcome family and friends into our homes for Thanksgiving, the Wisconsin Humane Society is hoping for volunteers to welcome some four-legged friends into their homes this year.
WHS is hoping to place 50 dogs in a loving foster home for a few days over the holiday. A day or two in a new, loving environment can help shelter dogs stay healthy.
If you and your family gravitate to different animals, WHS is always in need of volunteer foster families for cats and small animals.
The Humane Society will provide supplies and instructions on how to take care of your foster pet over the holiday. Volunteers should be able to pick up their new house guests at the nearest WHS campus location on Wednesday, Nov. 27 or Friday, Nov. 29.
If you're interested in fostering this week or any other time, visit their website to fill out a volunteer application.
