With winter weather forcing schools to stay closed, families across southeastern Wisconsin are coming up with ways to keep children busy.

Sarah Bloomquist in Cedarburg has done everything from taking her kids sledding with goats, to baking, to making fun dance videos on the TikTok app.

Wednesday marked their third snow day this week. She says they are holding up.

"It can get a little weary at times. I mean, my kids are great! But it's a long time in the house," Bloomquist said.

"It's actually hard to keep track of what day of the week it is because you're like OK you had school. You didn't have school. You had school. You didn't have school," said Sara Zellmer, a teacher and mom of two girls in Waukesha.

Even after a few days of crafting and games, she said it has been a nice change from their normal day to day.

"I honestly don't mind being home because I'm usually at school with kids," Zellmer said.

Zellmer and Bloomquist said knowing school was canceled ahead of time has helped in their planning. They are planning ahead for Thursday as well because their kids will be home for yet another day.
