MILWAUKEE — Local musicians from Milwaukee are working to bring individuals of all backgrounds together, in an attempt to change the narrative about violence and segregation in Milwaukee.
“Hip Hop DNA” is a live show celebrating the music and people who helped define the sound of American popular culture. Musicians from around the community plan to showcase their talents and different backgrounds to inspire the next generation.
"We want to be an overall cultural force in the city to benefit people of color," said Kiran Vedula, founder of the event.
Featuring jazz, soul, funk and hip-hop, the all ages show is set to take place at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
