The weekend is shaping up to be messy weather-wise, and it will start Saturday morning. A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday to noon Saturday for southeast Wisconsin.
Freezing rain, with ice accumulations ranging from 0.10 to 0.25 inch, will create slippery roads and sidewalks Saturday morning.
The freezing rain will change to rain by midday Saturday and continues into Saturday night, with up to an inch of rain possible. The high Saturday should approach 40 degrees.
Heavy rain and snow melt will combine to give the Milwaukee area a minor flooding threat.
Cold air moving into the area will change the rain showers to snow showers by Sunday morning. Little accumulation is expected, though. The high Sunday will be near 36, but temperatures will drop throughout the day.
The wind will ramp up Sunday, and gusts could near 50 mph.
Monday will be mostly cloudy with flurries possible. The high will be 18.
