During his first public appearance since losing the general election to Gov.-elect Tony Evers, Gov. Scott Walker addressed a number of topics in Madison, including the controversial photo out of Baraboo, which appears to depict students posing in a Nazi salute.
Walker was blunt about how he felt about the picture.
"I think they’re just stupid. I think they’re idiots. Simple as that," Walker said.
"I don’t know if it’s any more complicated than that. They’re just a bunch of idiots. Some try to brush it off as youthful indiscretion, but still they’re idiots," Walker also said.
Thousands have signed a petitioncalling for the students to be suspended because of the photo.
The photographer said the photo was innocent, but in a school board meeting, the public demanded action to educate the students on why the Nazi salute is not a joking matter.
Evers condemned the photo as well, saying it has "no place in Wisconsin."
