GoFundMe page set up to help MPD officer injured in hit-and-run

MILWAUKEE — A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover expenses for a Milwaukee Police officer who was injured in a hit-and-run last week.

Officer Alberto Figueroa, 26, has pulled over a vehicle for a traffic stop when two cars speeding down Capitol Drive near 24th Street crashed into a parked car that pinned Figueroa to the car he pulled over.

According to the GoFundMe page, Figueroa had multiple broken bones and has had two surgeries. He has a young family, including a new baby due in two months.

Th fundraising page was set up for the family to cover expenses while Figueroa is hurt. So far it has raised $2,581 of its $5,000 goal.
