MILWAUKEE — A Glendale police squad car was struck by a driver in a stolen car in downtown Milwaukee on Monday.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. near 10th and Highland.

According to Milwaukee police, a Glendale officer was transporting a prisoner to the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility located at 1015 N. 10th St. That's when the squad when struck by a driver in a stolen car.

The officer and prisoner were both transported to an area hospital for precautionary evaluations.

Milwaukee police say they are handling the stolen vehicle and accident investigation.
