FORT ATKINSON -- Three weeks ago, Fort Atkinson Police sent letters ordering all stores to remove CBD products from their shelves immediately.

The reason behind this order is a state law that says people can only possess CBD oil to treat a medical condition, and that it must be purchased from licensed physicians or pharmacies.

Last year, Wisconsin launched the Hemp Pilot Program.

This program allows licensed individuals to grow, develop and sell hemp products. That includes CBD oil.

As of now, most stores have removed CBD products from their shelves. However, one Family Video store has decided to keep the products for sale.

Stores that don't abide by this order could face up to $200 fines for each sale involving a CBD product.
