Discovery World is in the middle of a 20,000 square foot expansion to Milwaukee's lakefront.

TODAY'S TMJ4 got a look behind the curtain of Discovery World's new $18 million expansion.

From holding lightning in your hand to lightning on your hand, the new exhibit is literally hair-raising.

Joel Brennan, Discovery World President po& CEO, said, “It is almost like a rebirth for us.”

You can watch the birth of a tornado and even power a drone in the new “Power On” exhibit.  It is just one part of the science and technology museum’s expansion, thanks to a partnership with We Energies.

“It’s all about energy, transfer of energy but it is also giving the people who come here an opportunity to use a little energy, create a little energy," Brennan said. "Burn off a little energy while they are here!”

And if you want to slow down, there is a giant orange area to sit or lay back to catch your breath, and your kids.

“It also gives people a space to relax in and enjoy themselves," Brennan said.

Once the exhibit opens, kids will be the ones doing the chasing at the gravity wall but hopefully catching a bit of knowledge as well.

“They're starting with activity, they're starting with fun, but also getting the real lessons that we want them to learn," Brennan said.

The new interactive exhibit opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, the price of admission has not changed.
