MILWAUKEE — COVID-19 is forcing people to come up with more creative ideas for date night—but this time, Lakefront Brewery has got you covered.

Inside Lakefront Brewery, you'll find Bernie's original Chalet, which comes from when the Brewers used to play at County Stadium.

Owner Russ Klisch said normally he uses the chalet for tours, but said people on his staff came up with another idea: date night.

"A lot of people want to get out and relieve that COVID fatigue, and this is the perfect way to do that," Klisch said.

It's just you and your date inside the cozy chalet. You can enjoy a flight of beer and a dessert pretzel as you look out over the brewery.

Lakefront Brewery started it on Friday, and Carrie Hoppe got the first spot. She said she wanted to surprise her husband.

"He loves this place, he loves their beer, and when I saw it advertised, I thought this couldn’t be more perfect for a date night," Hoppe said.

You get the chalet for an hour and a half, and then staff comes in to clean it ahead of the next couple.

On Friday, that was James and Carrie Harris. James said he also wanted to surprise his wife.

"She came home and read about it, and I said it was all sold out already," James said.

"We haven’t eaten out much at all, and this is nice to get out and have our own private spot," Carrie Harris said.

It's so popular, the websiteshows weekend spots are booked through the end of the year. There are still weekday spots available online.
