Family of 14-year-old girl who was fatally shot hosts vigil in her memory

The family of Nequesia Terrell, the 14-year-old Milwaukee girl who was shot and killed Oct. 3, gathered on 11th and Burleigh tonight to host a vigil and balloon release in her honor.

Members of the community, Terrell's family and friends attended the vigil as the family continues to grieve while waiting to find out more about this shooting.

Terrell was riding in a car with friends when shots were fired at the car. She was rushed to a local hospital, but ultimately succumbed to her injuries. Terrell's tragic death marked the 17th homicide in Milwaukee this year that involved a child.
