Being stuck in the dead of winter is no joke, but it gets even worse if you run out of gas in the thick of cold late at night.

That's exactly what happened to one man rushing out of the house at midnight to help his mother who got stuck on ice in an alley.

The man ran out of gas near 20th and Keefe and would've been stuck in the street for a lot longer if not for the help of two Milwaukee Police officers.

While the first squad truck that passed him wasn't able to help due to an assignment, help wasn't too far behind.

Another squad stopped shortly after, and the two officers radioed back to dispatch that they'd need to be taken off assignment to take the man to and from his house to grab his gas can and get back to his car.

The man thanked the officers not only with a cute message but also with StoneFire Pizza passes.
