Below normal summer donations are leaving the blood supply at dangerously low levels in Wisconsin.
Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin has issued an emergency appeal for donors.
The current scheduled appointments aren't enough to ensure a supply of blood for Wisconsin hospitals in the weeks ahead.
Donations feel short in late June and became worse during the 4th of July holiday.
Versiti says all blood types are needed, but there is less than half a day supply of O-positive and O-negative.
All Versiti Blood Centers will have extended hours to accommodate donors.
If you are able to help, please call 1-877-BE-A-HERO (1-877-232-4376) to schedule an appointment.
You can also make an appointment on-line.
