West Milwaukee -- Dogs at risk of being killed in Texas are now being cared for in Wisconsin.

A volunteer group called Rescue Gang just moved into a facility on 46th & Burnham.

Today they welcomed 43 dogs and plan to shelter and care for them until they can be adopted.

"We are a 100% volunteer run rescue so these people are just here in their free time helping us save dogs," Rescue Gang founder Ryan Olson said.

It will take some time until the dogs will be available for adoption.

Rescue Gang places a two-week hold to make sure the dogs are healthy and ready to go to new homes.
