The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has an announcement for Wisconsin residents: Bigfoot isn't real and the DNR service bulletin titled "Sasquatch Alert" isn't either.

A bulletin has been floating around on social media with the DNR and U.S. Forest Service logos on it stating that there have been recent Sasquatch sightings around the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The post warns campers to keep a close lookout for any sightings.

"If contact is made with a Sasquatch, try to stay calm and do not run," the post reads. "If possible, try to take a photograph and note the time and area of the sighting."

In a Facebook post, the DNR said to stop the spread of the false information by using trusted sources to get facts. They said they've received a lot of messages about the post from concerned citizens. All official DNR alerts can be found on their website.
