WAUKESHA — While many communities canceled their trick or treating festivities because of the Halloween snow storm, Waukesha's went on as planned.

The city made the announcement on social media and websites that the show would go on despite the cold and snow.

Some parents said they tried to convince their kids to wait until the weekend but it didn't work.

"We tried to stay home but it just wasn't going to happen... there's cold, there's hot, there's 6 inches of snow" said parent Renee Bubrozek.

Others had to be convinced by their kids.

"I asked my son this morning if we are going to trick or treat, he said absolutely trick or treating in the snow builds character" said Joe Robinson.

Some kids said there would be a temperature that was too cold to trick or treat.

When asked if we were there yet, Elliott Boucher said "no."

The 2019 Halloween Snow Storm was a record breaker with 6.8 inches of snow in Waukesha.
