MILWAUKEE — Travelers are already seeing some flight delays in the return of regional favorite, Midwest Express. The Milwaukee-based airline expects schedules, pricing and initial flights to be released near the end of the first quarter 2020.
Midwest Express President Greg Aretakis told our partners at the Milwaukee Business Journal the delay is roughly three months later than the initial plan of Christmas 2019.
“We planned to have our commercial infrastructure completed by year-end, but due to the upcoming holidays and advanced planning needs of our customers, we expect to announce schedules, pricing and initial flights near the end of first quarter 2020. We thank the community for its continued interest and support, and we look forward to serving our customers in the new year," Aretakis said in an emailed statement.
This summer, Midwest Express announced the revival of the airline and its offering of nonstop flights to Cincinnati, Ohio, Grand Rapids, Michigan and Omaha, Nebraska.
The airline will partner with Elite Airways of Portland, Maine, providing a fleet of aircraft, flight crews and attendants, and maintenance service.
