Death investigation underway near Milwaukee Art Museum

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner was called to a location near the Milwaukee Art Museum for a death investigation.

The  Medical Examiner tells TODAY’S TMJ4 they were called around 5:30 a.m.  Wednesday by the Milwaukee Fire Department for a report of a deceased woman. 

According to the Milwaukee Fire Department, a 911 caller reported a woman who was "very white and not moving" from what appeared to be from an "accident."

When fire crews arrived at the scene the woman had no pulse and was not breathing. The Medical Examiner says they found no signs of trauma to the woman's body and do not believe this was the result of a suicide. 

An autopsy will be performed Wednesday.

Law enforcement closed Lincoln Memorial Drive -- between Michigan Street and Mason Street – to investigate the incident. The street was opened after 9:30 a.m.

No other information has been released at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
