Daniel Bukiewicz was appointed mayor of Oak Creek Tuesday night.

Bukiewicz was first elected alderman to the Oak Creek Common Council in 2010.

He was appointed to fill the vacancy left by former Mayor Steve Scaffidi, who resigned to host a talk show on WTMJ radio.

Bukiewicz will serve out the rest of the term until the April 2018 election.

The new mayor seems to have the support of the former one, as Scaffidi congratulated Bukiewicz in a Tweet Tuesday night.

Bukiewicz starts as mayor on Wednesday morning.
