Dangerous wind chills close to 30 below to begin workweek

Near-record cold, with wind chills at 20 degrees below zero to 30 below zero, is forecast to start the week in the Milwaukee area.

Highs Sunday will be only in the teens, and the actual temperature will dip below zero Sunday night. Schools traditionally have canceled classes when wind chills approach minus-25 in our area.

Snow should taper off before sunrise Saturday, with about 1 to 2 inches of accumulation, then conditions will remain mostly cloudy for the remainder of the day with highs near 30.
