Crews fight blaze at home in Oconomowoc

Crews fought a fire near Concord and Wisconsin in Oconomowoc early Monday morning.

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — Fire crews responded to a single-family structure fire near Concord and Wisconsin in Oconomowoc around 1 a.m. on Monday.

The person who called 911 reported flames coming from the window of their neighbor's home. According to Western Lakes Fire District, the caller was made aware of the fire by the home owners that came to their home to call 911.

Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy flames from the first floor of the home in the front and back as it progressed to the second floor.

Two adult children and their parents made it out of the home. The parents were transported to a local hospital with injuries including smoke inhalation and cuts.

The incident was upgraded to a box alarm level due to fire load and conditions, Western Lakes Fire District said. The fire was under control by 2:45 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation has been requested.

This was the second structure fire of the evening that fire crews responded to. Waukesha County, Jefferson County, and Dodge County responded to assist.

There were some traffic closures due to the fire.
