Wisconsin-based chain Cousins Subs announced Monday it will be expanding into the Chicagoland area, opening 40 locations.
The first location is set to open by the end of the year at 120 W. Madison St. in the business district of Chicago. The other 39 sores will open over the “next several years,” according to a news release.
“We are extremely excited about Illinois,” said Cousins Subs Vice President of Development Joe Ferguson in a statement. “There are so many markets in the state that are perfectly primed for our opportunity. We’ve seen just how successful our restaurants are in neighboring markets, and we’ve seen consumer demand for Cousins Subs creep from those markets into Illinois. Now we’re going to fulfill that demand.”
Cousins has 100 restaurants throughout Wisconsin. They did not release where the other 39 locations are proposed.
