Cousins Subs is taking an innovative approach to sandwich delivery. The family-owned restaurant chain plans to launch its first delivery-only shop in downtown Milwaukee on Thursday.
The new delivery-only concept will allow guests to order online and receive delivery within a designated area of Milwaukee —west to I-94/43, including Menomonee River Valley Corridor; east to Lake Michigan; north to North Ave.; south to Howard Ave.
The company hopes that the changes will help meet consumer demand and further expand the sub shop's urban market guest base.
"This approach allows us to utilize space in downtown Milwaukee to increase food production and offer full- service delivery without the guest-facing portion of a restaurant," said Joe Ferguson, vice president of development at Cousins Subs. "We're able to allocate more space and equipment for the kitchen area and focus on the fulfillment of large catering orders delivered directly to our guests' homes or offices."
The sub shop plans to hire up to 18 new hourly employees to service the delivery-only location. Interested applicants can apply on their website.
