MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Police Department is looking for help from the public in locating a suspect who stabbed two women in a violent attack on December 21st.
TODAY’S TMJ4 spoke with the two women, a couple who is expecting their first child in two weeks.
Police say that the suspect entered the women's residence in the 2400 block of North Fratney Street about 10:20 p.m. and started making demands.
The suspect then began stabbing the victims multiple times before leaving with one of the victim's property, according to police.
“This is it. This is where we die,” Chelsea Moretti recalled during the attack. “What did we do the deserve this,” she said.
Morbid thoughts raced through Moretti’s head during the attack that supposedly lasted for about a minute. Chelsea was 37 weeks pregnant at the time of the knife attack.
After making demands for money, the couple said the suspect then threatened to attack the pregnant woman. Even threatening to physically assault her shortly after.
Alexia Kiram, Moretti’s girlfriend, tried to fend off the attacker. Both were injured during the incident.
“Her motherly instincts came out during this attack as far as defending me and defending this child,” Moretti said.
The suspect is described as a black male in his early 30s, 6 feet tall with a slim build. He was last seen near the intersection of 49th & Lisbon wearing a grey coat, light pants and black and white tennis shoes. Police say he drives a 1995-1999 red Chevrolet Cavalier.
A GoFundMe account was set up for the couple as they anticipate medical expenses, a newborn and relocation from the area.
