SISTER BAY, Wis. (NBC 26) — The Sister Bay and Liberty Grove Fire Department shared a video showing the value of sleeping with your doors closed.
The department's video shows the damage caused in a residence Sunday night. Although the kitchen and dining room were burned and heavily damaged by the fire, the video shows how a door helped slow the fire to preserve the bedroom.
Firefighters say the phrase to remember is "close before you doze," meaning to close your door before falling asleep.
