Cities declare snow emergencies ahead of weekend storm

WISCONSIN — Several cities have declared snow emergencies ahead of this weekend's storm.

The storm is expected to hit in two separate waves, with the first arriving after 7:00 p.m. with a heavy wintry mix. Ice will be a primary threat on Friday.

  • City of Fort Atkinson declared a snow emergency that will take effect 12:00 a.m. Saturday and end at 12:00 a.m. Monday. The city said that no vehicle is allowed to be parked on any street or alley upon at least two inches of snowfall. Any car parked on the road may be ticketed.
  • City of Kenosha declared a snow emergency beginning 6:00 p.m. Saturday and ending at 6 p.m. Sunday. Parking on all city streets during the snow emergency.
  • City of West Allis declared a snow emergency beginning 3:00 p.m. Saturday and ending 1:00 p.m. Monday. Parking restrictions are in effect.
  • Town of Brookfield declared a snow emergency starting at midnight Saturday and ending at noon on Sunday. No parking will be allowed on any town streets.
  • Town of Norway/Wind Lake has declared a snow emergency beginning Friday at 10:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. No parking will be allowed on roads during this time.
  • Village of Kohler declared a snow emergency beginning 12:00 p.m. Saturday until 12:00 p.m. Sunday. Vehicles parked on the street will be ticketed.
  • Village of Pleasant Prairie declared a snow emergency beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday until 12:00 p.m. on Monday. No parking is allowed on village streets.
  • Village of Saukville has declared a snow emergency beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday until 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Village of Sturtevant declared a snow emergency beginning 5:00 a.m. Saturday and ending at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Village of West Milwaukee declared a snow emergency beginning 3:00 p.m. Saturday and ending 1:00 p.m. Monday. Parking restrictions are in effect.

There is a winter storm warning for Kenosha, Racine, Walworth, Waukesha, Jefferson Milwaukee, Washington and Ozauke counties from 7:00 p.m. tonight until 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

A winter storm watch for Fond Du Lac, Dodge and Sheboygan counties kicks in from 12:00 p.m. Saturday until 6:00 a.m. Sunday.
