Event organizers say they're working to bring the wildly popular China Lights display at the Boerner Botanical Gardens back in 2018, according to TODAY'S TMJ4's partners at the Milwaukee Business Journal.
"We anticipate returning," show producer Ralph Garrity told the Business Journal. "We're in talks and working on a contract."
The Chinese Lantern Festival has proven to be so incredibly popular that ticket sales were extended both times it has come to the Milwaukee area. 10,000 people attended the event in just one day in 2016.
An official announcement could come within the next few weeks, Garrity says. The sculpture and lantern festival has sold more than 100,000 tickets in each of the two years it has spent at Boerner.
