Some Wisconsinites may be able to see the northern lights Wednesday night, especially those who live outside of major cities.
Storm Team 4 Meteorologist Brian Niznansky said strong solar activity and clear skies tonight increase the chances of seeing the lights.
Kp is the index used on a scale of 0-9 scientists use to measure light activity. Wednesday night is at a 7, increasing chances for visibility if you're able to get away from city lights.
Getting out of the city will be key as light pollution from city lights usually clouds natural night lighting.
