MILWAUKEE — The hottest deal of February is also the hottest dish - $5 pho.

For all of 'Phobruary,' three Thai restaurants on National Avenue in Milwaukee are dishing out hot bowls of soup for a nearly 50 percent discount: Vientiane Noodle Shop, Thai Bar-B-Que, and Bamboo in Silver City.

"We want to welcome you to our neighborhood," Bouavanh Schuelke of Vientiane Noodle Shop said.

The promotion event is put on by the Layton Boulevard West Neighbors. The goal is to attract people to the diverse and delicious restaurants on National Avenue. It's also a good way to try something different.

"Try something different with the Thai food. A little bit more selection. You choose a lot of things," George Chai of Thai Bar-B-Que said.

Normally, pho costs anywhere from $8.00 to $10.00 at these restaurants, so this is a good deal for someone looking to go on a culinary excursion.

National Avenue has seen a fair bit of attention lately. It was recently announced that a nearly two-mile strip of the road would be getting a $23.3 million makeover.

Phobruary is almost over. It lasts until the end of the month.
