MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Public Schools, in collaboration with Rockwell Automation and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, unveiled a new science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) Center on Thursday at Cass Street School.
From sudsy science experiments to robots to a Lego league, Cass Street School’s new STEM center is a hub for the kind of hands-on learning, eighth grade student Destiny Dokes enjoys.
“I like putting stuff together and taking it apart because it’s fun and it’s hands-on,” Dokes said.
Funding for the center wasn’t cheap, but a $130,000 grant from Rockwell Automation made it all possible.
“This is what we want to see every day, and also this gives young people an opportunity to peek into the possibilities of all of the great things they can become,” MPS Superintendent Keith Posley said.

The STEM Center is open to all MPS students and students who are a part of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.
