WAUKESHA, Wis. — An elderly man suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a driver while crossing the street in Waukesha on Wednesday.
Around 6 p.m., the Waukesha Police Department asked the public to avoid the area of St. Paul Ave. and Fairview due to the crash.
The City of Waukesha Police and Fire Department provided lifesaving measures to the victim. He was transported to the hospital for advanced care.
Police say a 73-year-old man left a nearby business and was crossing the street when he was hit by a car traveling westbound on St. Paul Ave. The man suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police say the road will be closed in both directions for several hours.
