Car split in half after hitting tree near 48th and Good Hope; 3 teens injured

Police said all three teens are in critical condition.

MILWAUKEE — Three teens were taken to the hospital after a crash near 48th and Good Hope on Tuesday.

Milwaukee police said the crash happened around 5:39 p.m. A 2018 Hyundai Elantra was traveling east on W. Good Hope Road at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a tree and split in half.

The three occupants of the vehicle, all teens, were taken to the hospital.

According to police, one of the occupants is 14 years old. The other two are 15. They are all in critical condition.

Officials said the vehicle had been stolen out of Wauwatosa, but the crash was not a result of a police pursuit.
