GRAFTON — An 18-year-old California woman was charged Monday with first-degree intentional homicide.

Crystal Gutierrez reportedly was in the area to meet/stay with Brent Fitch, the 34-year-old victim, Grafton Police said.

Gutierrez's bond was set at $100,000. If posted, she cannot leave Wisconsin and must find a residence in Ozaukee County.

In court, Gutierrez said she is a possible victim of violence and needs mental help. Her preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. Friday.

Police were called to the 900 block of Spring Street about 2:20 a.m. Friday.

Fitch's body was found inside the home, and Gutierrez required medical assistance, police said.

Fitch reportedly was stabbed multiple times, police said.

The last time a homicide of this nature occurred in the Village of Grafton was 1982.

An autopsy is being conducted Monday at the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office.
