CALEDONIA — The Caledonia Police Department, with assistance from the fire department, rescued two dogs from a house fire on Monday.
Officials responded to the 6800 block of Beechnut Dr. around 2:04 p.m. on Monday for reports of a house fire.
When the first officer arrived, he entered the house with a neighbor and found a dog. The officer was able to get the dog to safety before going back in.
When the officer went back into the home he didn't find another dog or any people so he left the home.
When the fire department arrived, they entered the home and discovered a second dog and successfully rescued the animal from the home.
The home sustained serious damage. However, no one was injured.
