Brewers trade pitcher Chase Anderson for infielder Chad Spanberger

The Brewers have confirmed a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays,

The team traded right-handed pitcher Chase Anderson for Blue Jays' infielder Chad Spanberger.

“We are appreciative of the contributions made by Chase over the last four years, not only on the field, but in the community,” said General Manager David Stearns. “We wish Chase and his family all the best going forward.”

Anderson has been with the Brewers since 2016. He owns a career record of 53-40 with a 3.94 ERA in 166 games / 160 starts in the Major Leagues with Arizona (2014-15) and Milwaukee (2016-19).

Spanberger has been added to the Double-A Biloxi roster. He was originally selected by Colorado in the sixth round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft. He was traded to Toronto on July 26, 2018.

Further, the Brewers declined the club option on Eric Thames and pick up the option on Manny Pina.
